FDA: Tirzepitide no longer in shortage! No what?

All over the news today... tirzepitide no longer in shortage status, Lilly says all compounding pharms must stop selling. Now what do we do? Canada?

I'm still waiting on announcements from the big providers. It's really the pharmacies that will make the call. APC president Scott Brunner has said they'll have to cease.


This is uncharted territory for the FDA. There has never been such a hotly-contended blockbuster drug in shortage before. Never a compounded version of a medication being relied upon by this many people. There are laws against dropping patients in your care but the FDA laws are not worded in a way to allow for tapering or any length of transition.


In other words... we'll see.
